So anyone finished the game yet? in my opinion, revelations is a good game by itself, but it pales so much compared to previous franchises.
Here is the thing, there is not nearly enough mystery and tension to keep me going, almost all the main characters are gone (Da Vinci, Machiavelli, Volpe, Bartolomeo, Caterina Sforza even Lucy) with most of Ezio's enemies dead (Rodrigo, Cesare, Baron Valois) its just already hard to make an interesting storyline. worse yet, this installment have nearly no new character development, i originally think the ottoman master assassin (Yusuf Tazim) will play a major role in the game, but the fact is that he hardly even appear in missions.
*minor spoiler*
In the story, you hardly even assassinate anyone, the game became more like scholar's creed than actual assassin's creed, there are less than 5 targets and one of them turns out to be an innocent man
The ending was worse, it explains some minor stuff, but doesn't resolve anything
as for the gameplay, revelations is just lacking, first about the travels, they removed horses, but the zip lines placements is a total fail and can hardly speed up your travels. and if you played the game, the den defense game just doesn't fit with the settings. There are also no war machines or other mini-games (like glyphs) in revelations, making the game seriously boring and straightforward, in addition, you can no longer become permanent non-notorious (you use to have a cape for this) and in some cases it can be very annoying.
the only good parts of this game is the new apprentice system, they also made some changes to the apprentice contracts to actual strategic missions that you can control cities and they give you income etc. The bomb system also adds (a little) variation to the gameplay, but the impact is not much as bombs are expensive and in small quantity to be used frequently.
So to anyone who played the game, what are your thoughts?

Mostly the same that you said. The game is short, charachters are lame, the city is very small, it is nowhere as good as AC2 or Brotherhood and the gameplay has changed in a wrong way.

That doesn't mean the developers couldn't have made a longer story and more missions. Ezio was fit enough to 20-40 more missions. Only the developers were tired.

The problem is that they're trying to turn Assassin's Creed into a yearly franchise like COD, something that AC just wasn't meant to be. It's clear that not enough time was spent on brotherhood, and it shows through even worse for revelations.

you mean like these guys?:
Admat ali Pasha. Cyril of Rhodes. Mirela Djuric. Shahkulu. Manuel of Palaiologos. Vali Cel Tradat. like those guys? and others i cant recall right now.. allot more than 5 for all sequences... but maybe not major targets.. but still, if you wanna complete assassins creed: Revelations storyline, you gotta kill allot more than 5 people.

yeah.. with all the damn side-missions/shit collect stuff, its plain out BORING searching for all those animus/treasure chests. i spent most of that time with speedhack 100x.
btw Skyrim is much better, open map, click on any "previously discovered" location, and teleport there.

wrong. but you must first unlock it, and it can only be used in missions, under options->cheats
x.x
Quote: | The bomb system also adds (a little) variation to the gameplay, but the impact is not much as bombs are expensive and in small quantity to be used frequently. | Only true if you don't care about getting 100% sync :p Bombs are absolutely essential to get 100% sync during lots of those "dont kill" or "dont get seen killing" missions.
but if your okay with 50% sync, sure, bombs don't make much of a difference. (personally i never took a single mission of the storyline without 100% sync. lots of replays there :p ) - also.. buying them from dealer-fag is unnecessary, chests with "ingredients" are literally "all over the place", and iirc, those spots to make bombs is in every story line mission (maybe except the last mission with the horses and outta town)
quick version: too much hiding in shadows missions, "im the most dangerous person alive, but i cant get seen!" - too few battles. x.x
