If I'm scanning for multiple pointers on a game how do I know when to stop?

I've seen 2 methods of doing multiple pointers. One being where you find the address, do a "Pointer scan for this address", save it, then do over and over until you find something like a few hundred different pointers.

The other being finding the address then "find out what accesses this address", do the scan in hex, and repeat over and over.

I figured that when I narrowed the pointers down they would work on any of the other saves that I had. But loading one where I was further ahead in the game, the pointers I had did not work.

Is there another way I should be appraoching this?

I sometimes hit static addresses that are yield by wow64cpu.dll. Can these be reused?

Not sure. I would try a different path or keep looking. Might be it's a teporary value and all 32bit calls areblocked by a mutex so they can do that
But if it works you can use it (for 64bit windows installs)
