something so I can do AV to vga and connect my wii/360 to it. I was wondering about something with a switch, as I don't want to constantly unplug it for my pc.

Yea my pc still uses a vga monitor, I don't care.

Also how would I go about sound? Obviously I'd need some kind of speakers with aux in.

Radio Shack should have an AV to VGA adapter, as for sound you should be able to get an RCA to 3mm jack which would plug directly into your computers Line-In on your soundcard.

The benefit to hacking a hardware cable is you could probably get one for under $20, the other parts I know you could get from RadioShack for under $10. The hardest thing would be identifying the pinout of the output in the first place.
