| My laptop model is HP's DV6-3023ca and I'm not sure how to do this. I have an eSata USB port though. I don't know if my computer has more slots for HDDs and I'm not sure which one to get. My OS is Windows 7 & yeah.. Would I get some kind of wire to mount this as an external hard drive or take apart my laptop and put this inside?

I'd recommend getting a big enough one to replace your hard drive entirely, and then you wouldn't even need to worry about another slot. Additionally, that's the only way you'll reap the benefits of an SSDs power usage and low heat.

You'll wanna replace your current hard drive with it. If you leave a mechanical hard drive in your computer and use the SSD for boot, the laptop will use less power and generate less heat, but only slightly, and every time you access something from the mechanical, you'll be firing that thing up as well. If you don't want to drop a lot of money on a large SSD, I'd recommend getting at least an 80-90GB OCZ Vertex 2/3, then getting an external hard drive (possibly just popping your current into an external enclosure - would only be ~$10-15) so that it uses AC power and not your laptop's battery.
