How do I cheat?

So ive seen people use CE on Fifa Ultimate Team to list auctions at lower than is normally possible etc.
However I want to try and edit how much money I have, when searching for the values, I found two so I edited them, on returning to the game it showed the animation to say my money had decreased; as if it had reverted from what i edited it to, back to the original. Why?
