The last time I've bought a mouse was 11 years ago and what I'm currently using is the Microsoft Intellimouse Optical. You can still find these on newegg and its price still haven't changed as well as its nicely packed 5 year warranty. Recently the middle button on my mouse had died (probably due to accidentally dropping it a few times during its lifespan) and since I use that a lot especially for opening tabs, it's time to replace this aging rodent.
Two technologies have forever caught my attention, it was the innovation of Microsoft's Bluetrack and Logitech's Darkfield, both of these will let users use their mouse on almost any surface like granite, carpet, and wood. One advantage with Logitech's Darkfield is, it will also work on glass, provided the glass surface has to be at least 4mm thick.
I've went online to check out some of these mice based on these technologies and found out Logitech's Darkfield is only limited to 2 models and Microsoft's Bluetrack has quite a few of them, but most of its builds looks cheap.
One other thing besides just for everyday use is the use for gaming. I do play games a lot, but not for some stupid competition or want to be like that fatality ho. I play my games mostly offline and do so just to make time pass by. Games I play are mostly FPS and racing like NFS. After doing some research about "gaming" mouse is their urge to make buyers think higher DPI = better gaming mouse. Is that really the case or DPI don't matter. One other thing they say is the sensor position at the center is better than ones that is slightly or off center, now is that true as well?
Besides these two criteria I'm looking for a mouse, I would also like to have additional buttons such as forward and back, I'm too used to this as my current rodent has it to make web browsing a lot more convenient.
Here are a few mouse that I have picked out
1. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826104321&cm_re=performance_mx-_-26-104-321-_-Product
2. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826104318&Tpk=logitech%20G500
3. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826105255&Tpk=microsoft%20sidewinder%20x8
4. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826153059
Now to all you forum members out there, what are your thoughts about these or do you have some other suggestions? And here are some other question which will help me in my decisions. Thanks!
1. What mouse do you currently own (brand and model)?
2. What is the maximum DPI and what is your optimal DPI settings?
3. What position is the mouse sensor?
4. Do you experience any mouse issues when playing games?
5. How comfortable is your mouse after long periods of use?
6. Do you like the mouse that you currently have and why?
7. How easy is it when you press the middle click wheel, is it soft or hard?
8. Does your mouse have forward and back buttons?

I got the Sidewinder X5, and the general shape of the mouse looks about the same as the X8, but has less features and lower DPI.
Took a bit of getting used to, but in a week, it fitted snugly into my hand. Pretty solid mouse, no problems with it so far.

I have been using the G500 for a while now and I have to say it's really good.
Max is 5000 dpi (Can change for each axis). I tend to use around 2000.
The only problem I would say I have is that sometimes when I press down middle mouse, my finger moves slightly to the left or right and will trigger the shortcuts assigned to it. More of a user error than anything else.

I currently own and use the Razer Deathadder 1800DPI and I love it. Its very smooth, perfect for my hand and I love the blue glow on it. Now the sensor is in the middle of the mouse and I keep the polling rate at 1000hz or 1ms and DPI on 1800 all the time. Very comfortable after long periods of use and no issues while playing games, it does have two side buttons for forward and backward. The middle click is very easy and soft but its not to sensitive. Now they don't make the 1800DPI one anymore, but they have the same mouse but it is 3500 DPI so I would go for if you want a good, inexpensive gaming mouse. Now the other options like the sidewinder and such have higher DPI, but if you aren't into the whole high DPI thing then I'd go for the Deathadder.
Only 59.99 USD http://store.razerzone.com/store/razerusa/en_US/pd/productID.169416100/parentCategoryID.35208800/categoryId.40946100

tldr, however:
1. What mouse do you currently own (brand and model)? Sharkoon Rush Fireglider
2. What is the maximum DPI and what is your optimal DPI settings? 3600/1600
3. What position is the mouse sensor? Centre?
4. Do you experience any mouse issues when playing games? None
5. How comfortable is your mouse after long periods of use? Extremely (better than my old logitech)
6. Do you like the mouse that you currently have and why? Alot, because its pretty awesome, cool look, adjustable weights, programmable macros.
7. How easy is it when you press the middle click wheel, is it soft or hard? Medium?
8. Does your mouse have forward and back buttons? No, but 3 extra programmable buttons.

Razer is the Alienware of the mouse and keyboard industry, even more than Alienware itself.
I personally own a Logitech MX518, and it's by far the best mouse I've ever used. A G500 is just a step up from that, but I don't favor it over the MX518 just out of personal preference.
I'd go with a G500 if I were you.

I use the Razer Deathadder 3500 DPI model. It's fucking amazingly comfortable even after hours of gameplay. There is just something about the form factor that makes it extremely comfortable. I broke my other mouse, which was similarly shaped to the g500. But that thing made my hand hurt after long periods of clicking. The Deathadder supports your whole hand, not just your front fingers. Plus the pretty glowing lights are a really nice feature also. Although DPI doesn't really matter for SP games, why don't you just get another intelli mouse?

Thanks guys.
I have not got my mouse yet, so keep them suggestions coming.
As for why not just grab another Intelli mouse?
I need one that can help me move the cursor across the screen without having to pick up the mouse all the time as I got microscopic moving space.
Maybe a trackball will be better off? Some of the people I know uses trackball, but it injured they hands after years of use!

Please don't get a track ball mouse, they are pretty much obsolete and I feel like it would break a lot easier than an optical mouse. I don't think i need to tell you or give you advice this considering most of the time YOU help people out in computer talk.
I recommended the death adder and it seems someone else has as well, I suggest you check it out, if you want something that is comfortable.

After some digging around, I have made my decision on the mouse I'm going to get. The mouse is actually not on the list as during that time, I didn't know it existed or most likely haven't really caught my attention until now.
I'll tell you guys what it is and maybe a mini-review once it arrives.
Hint: It's got lots of buttons!
Once again, thanks for the input.
I really appreciate it.

1. What mouse do you currently own (brand and model)? Razer Naga
2. What is the maximum DPI and what is your optimal DPI settings? 5500
3. What position is the mouse sensor? Er, underneath it? =/
4. Do you experience any mouse issues when playing games Nope
5. How comfortable is your mouse after long periods of use? Very
6. Do you like the mouse that you currently have and why? Sure do, like 16 macroable buttons, very fast
7. How easy is it when you press the middle click wheel, is it soft or hard? Easy enough, and quite soft. Rubber padding I believe.
8. Does your mouse have forward and back buttons? Pretty sure it did, but I changed the settings for the mouse. I know you can set a back and forward button though.
Only problem I have with this mouse is once every couple weeks for some retarded reason it just continuously left-clicks. Apparently it's a common problem. But it's only happened like 3 times in 8 months for me and I use this computer far too much. Easy fix too, just unplug/replug.
If you were to get it, I'd go for the Naga Epic as that mouse can change the colours. This one is set to Blue, but Epic has many many colours I think.
