Can anyone point me towards some information or a tutorial that deals specifically with using the 'Text' Value Type in Cheat Engine?

Basically I'm trying to figure out how you'll know when searching for text would be useful, what steps you take to find out what you should be typing in the search bar, and that sort of background information.

I'm looking for general knowledge concerning this, not towards any specific game.
