And it's making all of my games act up and usually crash. Steam games crash on loading, others jump around a lot whilst still maintaining a high fps. What can I do to fix this? Has anyone else had this problem?

Are you using the same output on the graphics card? As in still using HDMI rather than switching form HDMI to DVI.

Double check the refresh rate that your games are defaulted at make sure the monitor matches.

Right click your desktop, click Screen Resolution [Assuming Windows 7]
click Advanced Settings then go to the tab Monitor. If your computer is anything like mine, it will show a refresh rate (For me, its 60 Hertz)
He wants you to make sure the games are set to the same refresh rate as your monitor. I don't think this will cause crashing though, just flickering.

Yeah mainly flickering and in some cases severe headaches. What monitor did you have, and what did you get? Did you install any drivers for either? Not saying you have to with monitors, but if you had and switched could be a Windows configuration issue. Though Windows should have recognized the new hardware on reboot. When you installed new monitor, and you booted did you boot to a Windows admin account or an account that had access to change hardware?
