When you aren't sure the type of something, and you tried the logical choices but failed, what do you do?
I like to use CE on emulators a lot, in this case, a PSX game. It's a strategy game where a soldier can only move a set amount of boxes around them, depending on a few factors such as terrain height. So I want to make it a lot bigger... but after trying with 0->FF vice versa, and Unknown initial value, I just can't get it.
What do I do? I've been using CE for over 5 years but I always stick to plain ol' cheat tables. I'm interested with AA or CI if anybody want to point me to the right direction, if it is generally the best way to hunt sneaky values like this.
I know sometimes the older games can get tricky because they need to be smart about memory... For example in FF7 where a byte is used as a slot item count AND type (eg odd = equipment, even = item, so 66 may give you 33 potions but 67 may give you 33 swords). So I wonder if the same applies here?
Pardon the pun but, pointers, anyone?
