It's not just a chip you can swap on the motherboard. |
So having an integrated video card basically means that the video card is "built into the laptop", such that a change isn't possible.

Don't some laptops have a PCI-E slot or something (I forget the specific name) that you can insert a graphics card into?

No & yes.. Bit tricky but in most HIGH end laptops you can change the GPU, if your laptop costs under £1500 (which will most likely have an integrated GPU) then you have no chance.
TL:DR: You can put new GPU's in laptops but you can't because your laptops not high end or anywhere close.
