I have two 2 terabyte GoFlex external hard drives, but don't have the NAS sharing dock.

I have the 2tb version of this; http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Seagate+-+FreeAgent+GoFlex+Desk+1TB+External+USB+2.0/3.0+Hard+Drive+-+Black/1305512.p?id=1218249064227&skuId=1305512

I bought this a while ago, thinking i would be able to share my files over my network with this hard drive, but can't.

The hard drive WITH the dock ; http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148614&cm_re=Seagate_NAS-_-22-148-614-_-Product

Is there a way to buy JUST the dock separately? If so were could i get it? Thanks!

EDIT: I found this, would it work? (My Hard drive is USB 3.0 and would also like the dock to support 3.0 transfer, if possible)

Does your HDD really need this? Shouldn't plugging it in and telling windows to share it be enough? Or is this for like media to a tv type thing?

Plug HDD into computer.

Drive -> Properties -> Sharing tab -> Advanced Sharing -> "Share this folder" tickbox -> Name -> Add button -> Permissions (Read?/Change?) -> Apply -> ??? -> Profit

Or get a router/modem with the USB External HDD slot?

That would work.

You do NOT need the sharing dock. I can access my external on 3 PCs, a PS3 and a TV (PS3/TV using media server) just from sharing it as stated above.

I find that "live" drives and sharing docks are just useless.

Like this; http://promotions.newegg.com/WD/mybook2011/index.html?cm_sp=Homepage_TopV1-_-WDmybook2011&B-_-http%3a%2f%2fpromotions.newegg.com%2fWD%2fmybook2011%2f980x130.jpg

Seriously? A drive with an ethernet port? Just share the damn thing and save some money, greedy bastards!
