How do I cheat?

I have a variable that I know the name in actionscript of, but I don't know it's current value at any time, so I don't know how to search for it. I have been trying the pointer scanner, but I am totally lost. I need to set the value, preferably I would like to lock it too, but that is not necessary.
How can I find this, or set it?

Just tell me the variable name and post the link of the game you are trying to hack and I will see what I can do!  Then if I find anything out after experimenting a while for myself, I will post an explanation of everything that I know how to explain.

The Variable is :
BASE._lastSpawnedMushroom
BASE is the classname, and if you scan the memory for _lastSpawnedMushroom you will find the only reference.
and the game is a FB game, backyard monsters
( apps (dot) facebook (dot) com (slash) backyardmonsters (slash))
Yes, I know it is a "server side" game, but I have found that there are certain limitations that are controlled by the client.
Also, if you can tell me how you do the magic, I would appreciate it!

I assure you, I have already found plenty of hacks that do wonders. You can't hack items, like shiny, resources and such directly, but the UI actually controls many variables that can manipulate them.
