Ok so I'm looking for a small mmo like maplestory was back in the day before they gayed it up. I use to play WoW but I'm taking a break until cata comes out any recommendations?

Lord of the rings online is possibly the best PvE out there.
Guildwars has some awesome PvP (If you have to buy it and you are only looking for PvP buy factions first)
Eve online is good if you have a lot of time to play each day (Set your skills to learn and leave it)

You can play Catalysm in few days
or meeple story again with the new patch, enjoy faster grinding, more OP classes, more economy sink ( it had a economy?), 10years old, teenager whores, internet bullying, etc.

Try Dragonica. It is basically like 3D MS
