Just installed CE 5.6.1 for the first time with AVG Internet Security 2009 running, and it detected malware in the paths
...\APPDATA\LOCAL\MOZILLA\FIREFOX\PROFILES\AHUX2P36.DEFAULT\CACHE\CC865429D01, as well as in CHEATENGINE561.EXE
Not sure exactly what to do about it, as I would rather like to avoid malware on my computer, but I have been using CE for a while. Any information on this issue will be appreciated.
Both files were labeled as Win32/HackTool.SystemCall.AA by AVG.

It's 100% correct
Cheat Engine is a (game)hacking tool and it comes with a routine that enumerates the SystemCall routines in windows for whatever reason you might want to use it. (bypass game/debugger protection for one)
Check out the dbkkernel folder in the ce sourcecode and the systemcallretriever sid app that comes with it (sourcecode for that is in \SystemcallRetriever\)
Of course, the question you where probably asking is: Does it to damage to my system if I don't want it to?
The answer to that is no, as long as you don't tell Cheat Engine to destroy your windows install CE will not destroy your windows install _________________
