Cheat Engine

If you want to know how to "hack" than this is not the way to go. its fun to toy around with but its limited capabilities require to much time to do a simple task that i can do in 20-30 seconds. I have always enjoyed sing CE and rewriting the source to fit my benefit but i think its time for the developers to be a little more creative. In the past i would log onto the forums and there would be 20-40 new posts daily and now its just dead. Some new features would probably be appropriated by everyone.

The deadness is caused by removing the meaple section tbh. Also, what new functions are you thinking of?

how about multi search so while one scan is going (money) you can also search for another value (ammo/ hp)

or an automatic updater for those of us who dont know crap about computers and have no clue how to uninstall things correctly. i've known how to make server based updaters since i was 14.

or a built in keyboard/mouse macro

Not really following you on the updater thing. Macros? Use scar. I mean, there is a tool for everything. Rather a nice focus on the actual mem editting then half of two things. Multiple scans wouldn't go faster as you'd have two scans that go two times as slow as one. So yeah. I think CE is rather complete actually.

your not a programmer are you. its not a problem with running slow as much as the program has to actually find and process the information. For macros that was an idea and i would prefer an all-in-1 program instead of opening 4-5 programs to do one task.

I just did a test

same flash game
test 1: one CE window open- first scan for a common number took 15 seconds

test 2: 4 CE windows open- same scan using (using macro to start all of them within a second) 16 seconds.

if there actually was a difference in the amount of scans going it would probably be up to your ram on the amount of speed it takes.

Also the updater works like this

user has an old CE version (5.5)
the updater would prompt the user when starting up the program and say something like, "there is a new version of Cheat engine available would you like to update (y/n)"

If you choose yes then cheat engine will connect to an ftp server with the newly patched/ updated files and update without the user having to do anything but click yes.

What do you think they do when their firewall blocks ce from making an outgoing connection ?

as for less posts that is because I am changing this forum. I'm slowly removing all game specific topics. Other forums are better suited for that kind of thing

and you can always post suggestions

also, next ce version already has multiple scans
mouse/keyboard macro, perhaps I could add it to the script engine

cool darkbyte if you need help on the macro part just e-mail me and i can explain how it works. and im sorry i 4got about the non-tech savy peeps thinking everything is a virus.

i keep hearing people asking for CE for linux and always the response is "there are other programs similar for linux" but what if CE was linux compatable (and mac)

I've been working on making a CE clone so that it has everything that the most recent version of ce has and it works with linux (not using windows executable) this version will even look mostly the same and the only changes are just to make it search the process list for linux and look smoother and not microsoft xp theme. (dull and not very exciting)

similar, under my research with php. by technicality they fixed the original problem but ignored the true problem by ignoring the parriminters in witch cause a true problem. 90% of all php scripts have a similar exploit and this one is the hackers dream. in a total of 20 seconds it took me to find many exploits in your scripts. that was an example of something you should check for.

CE is open source for a reason, if you don't like it, edit it. If you want a feature, add it. The base of the tool is solid and works, that is the point of CE. Extra specifics per-game, per-taste, per-opinion is all your choice to add. CE has been that way since it started.

High demand brings new features, not one personal QQ thread.
