Finally decided to go ahead and get an SSD, Not sure which one to get though. Looking between 100$-220$ CAD, and 60gb+.

The only ones I have looked at so far are:

http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820167031

Any other suggestions are welcome, Thanks

Very Happy

The first one does have the highest read, but it's write isn't too high up there, however.

Not to say that the write would be slow, it's still SSD-quality, just wouldn't be as good as the other two.

Yeah the third is what I personally would have gone with.

The third one looks awesome, only problem would be the cost. It's sort of a waste of money. For the same price, you could get 2 1 tb caviar blacks to put in raid 0 or 1, and still have money left over.

I'd go with the vertex 2 120GB
Big size and fast read AND write speeds

But it wouldn't be nearly the same speed.

I would still wait until ssd's are cheaper. For me at least, their prices are still too out of whack with normal HDDs, regardless of performance.

Wait for the Intel G3 SSDs. They promise double the capacity for similar pricing to the G2s.

Moneys not to much of an issue, and I already have a few hdds so don't really want another one. I picked the 3rd one as it has a decent size and write speed Smile . Thanks for all your suggestions.

Since you mention money isn't a issue.
How about the OCZ IBIS SSD?

That thing is rated at 2GB/s

In the real world:
desktop apps: R=373MB/s W=323MB/s
enterprise apps: R=804MB/s W=675MB/s

The smalleset is 100GB and for a cheap price of $600

Seriously, if you going to constantly install and write stuffs to your SSD then maybe you will need to look at write. If not the read is more important.

Also the Crucial RealSSD runs on SATA III (SATA 6Gb/s)
