So all my little brother does is watch movies streamed from the internet, meanwhile, I can't play any online games. Is there any way I can limit his accessibility HUGELY without changing the password?
I have access to his laptop and router.
Another solution is to use a routing table of sorts to create a smart router which would give your packets network priority. You may hear them referred to as game routers or poor mans game routers. I have done something similar under a box I setup that runs Linux and IPTABLES, and created a ruleset to give my packets higher network priority than anything else on my network.
On the other hand depending on your router there may be a setting that you can limit the amount of bandwidth that he uses. He would notice a slight slow down as less of your pipe is allocated to his computer.
If you post the make model of your router, it would go further to getting a proper answer. _________________
