By around, I mean it can be a bit over. I'm not expecting you to build me a whole computer, just asking for a general idea, as this is what I can spend.
Fixed title.

If this is really true:

Code:
1 Australian dollar = 0.9860 US dollar

You are all set to build yourself a TOP end computer from scratch.

Aus price are screw up, they don't have big retails like newegg and shit, and products are overcharged by 10-20% most of the time.
1.5k AUS would be getting 1k USD worth of parts.
see for your self at pccasegear, umart, and that whatever pc retailer
pic semi related, you get what you paid for.

I recompensed you going to MSY If you live in Australia.
I've found them to be cheaper and have a lot of high end available products, although they don't have all of the big brands.

Planning on getting it custom-built in a store rather than building my own, parents dont trust internet.
Wait, they have a branch of this in ipswich? I think they do, it says so. If they do, what would you recommend I buy as a system, because they acutally seem really cheap.
http://www.msy.com.au/SYSTEMS/INTEL-Pro4.pdf
http://www.msy.com.au/SYSTEMS/AMD-Gamer4.pdf
I would prefer intel because I know a little more about it, but I'm not picky.

You don't have to get from the premade custom builds in those .pdf files.
You can simply chose which components you want, go to the store, tell them I want you to build it which costs $70 I think.

I figured that, but I would be completely happy with those depending on what they mean. The cost next to the processor isn't the processor itself, it's the whole tower right?

$1800 AUD (around)
Its a monster computer.
3 750GB Harddrives (RAID them)
2 GTX 470 NVidia cards (Dual Card them)
1000W Power Supply (Plenty room for expansion)
AMD 1090T Black Edition (Best AMD Processor you can get) 3.2 Ghz x6
12GB DDR3 RAM
LG Blu-Ray Writer x10
Awesome computer...
Just buy Windows Home Premium 64-bit from here:
http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-WINDOWS-7-HOME-PREMIUM-UPGRADE-DISCS-32-64-BIT-/370435639208?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item563faf47a8

Its only $100.
So the computer comes to about $1850 USD
Which is about $1930 AUD.
Smile Adding up shipping, its about right.

Nope, unless there's a newegg.au. But still going to be fuckload expensive
Also, if you get someone to ship it, enjoy getting raped by import taxes
