Check your hosts file to make sure you don't have an entry similar to
Code:
127.0.0.1 irc.malvager.com
In there. If you do you need to remove that entry and reboot to reload the hosts file. Once done you should be able to connect.
On the other end of the spectrum if you parents are running some type of net filter application this could be causing the lack of resolution.
Are you able to ping this address from a command prompt? You could also try to connect to the server using the IP instead of the domain name. If you were able to connect, it would point to an issue with one of your DNS servers either not resolving the name properly or possibly blacklisting the site. _________________
