Internet explorer keeps closing itself?

My freind keeps having a problem with internet explorer closing out of itself. I'm not sure if its a virus or a corrupt file. can anyone help her out?

Reinstall IE would be the obvious choice.

There could be several reasons and possible solutions, but first, try to run a virus scan and an anti-spyware scan. As well as free some space in your systems cache and temporary internet files.

If IE still crashes, you may try this fix: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/946627/

Besides a infection, the most likely reason for it to crash is Adobe Flash or some corrupted website.


Update Adobe Flash, if you can't
Delete all temporary internet files, cookies, and histories, if again no work
Reset Internet Explorer

If it's IE8, go to start>Control Panel>Internet Options>Click on the Advanced Tab

At the bottom hit reset, enable "delete personal settings" and hit reset one more time.
