For just a brief moment, forget creationism. Forget theology. Forget religion.
Forget the big bang, forget the meaning of life.
Just think for a second, and imagine the fact that there are well over 100 billion humans that ever lived, and only 7 billion are alive today.
Why are "you" you? Assume is it by random chance. Considering the fact above, isn't it a pretty low chance that we are alive today? Assume that you live in America (with a population of 350+ million out of 7 billion). Isn't it an even *lower* chance that you were born in America?
These chances seem too low. Essentially, it's too good to be true. We were born in an age with incredibly technology, when all common sense points to the fact that we were much more likely to be born in an era with horrible technology.
Does anyone else appreciate this fact? The weirdest thing about it, is that no one trips on it. Everyone takes it for granted. There is no one around saying "you are lucky to be born in this time". Why is that? Doesn't anyone else realize our incredible luck, assuming that who you are born as really is completely random?

That's because people tend to not waste their time on trivial shit. What difference does it make for you as a human?
Enjoy life instead of philosophizing why you live.

I wouldn't call it trivial though. If you look at the bigger picture, it starts to seem like one of the most important things.
The difference it makes is that if we are indeed so incredibly lucky, I would be much more grateful.
In 150 years from now, things could be much worse, and we may look back and think "how could we have taken that for granted?"

Yes we are lucky. But there is more luck then you are observing.
What if we were born 1 day, 1 year, 1 century, into the future. What if life is actually better 150 years from now? Then we may not be as lucky as you think.
Though anyone can predict and be correct, its pure logic. Even if you have a 1/INF chance of being correct. There is always that small chance. And that makes a difference.

In 150 years from now, things could be much worse, and we may look back and think "how could we have taken that for granted?" | Again, I refer to the Quote: | Live instead of wondering why | Would you cherish life more than you currently do if someone told you life's going to be a hell in 150 years?
Create your own luck. Trying to find a purpose with what you're doing is like asking yourself what the meaning of life is (let's not turn the subject into this please). Some things aren't inprenetable for the human brain, hence there's no point in trying to figure such things out.
I may be wrong but that's at least what I believe.

Trying to figure out why we are alive in this current moment is pretty stupid. You'll never find an answer. I believe I'm here, right now, because my mother had sex with my father and then babby was born 9 months later.(Actually 8 months and 2 weeks in my case).
I think one should enjoy life without worrying why we're here, you'll never be satisfied with your answer.

So why aren't you crying your eyes out because you're not born 150 years into the future?
Then you can teleport around and eat space monkeys at school.

Not really, it kind of all makes logical probable sense if you think how obscenely massive the universe is.

@elpacco - Thats exactly what I meant!
Life is so big. Most of Physics is purely just built from imagination, because we can't study something we don't even comprehend.
Let me google something..
Edit:I found something,
“The true sign of intelligence is not knowledge but imagination.”
“Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited to all we now know and understand, while imagination embraces the entire world, and all there ever will be to know and understand.”
“Logic will get you from A to B. Imagination will take you everywhere.”
“Imagination is everything. It is the preview of life's coming attractions.”
Einstein.

It does get to you. Why was I born in this time period? Why wasn't I born 100 Million years ago?
