The purpose of this post is to gather information on VBA-M and how to make Game shark codes in hope that one day we can easily convert CE addresses and values into Game shark and later with Desmume, or No$GBA Action Replay codes.
For now lets stick with VBA-M.
I found the following on my own in around an hour:
VBA-M cheat code structure- 01YYXXXX
01 - I have no clue what it is just that it will crash your emu if you change it
YY - Value you want to change the addresses value to
XXXX - "address" you want to write to/change/freeze/other
I found this with Dragon Warriors Monsters ( I love the game ) using CE and my money - the ending of the addresses in CE were always "3C37" and the "address" in VBA-M was always "17C6"
To change 16bit or 32bit values it just dupes a cheat code and tweaks the "address" ex: 01FFC238 01FFC338 which would modify C238 and C338 to 255 or "FF"
Also, I found their SVN(VBA-M's) and looked around. The structure they used for Game Shark codes was found in Cheats.cpp . Cheats.cpp can be viewed online here.
I aim to make it easy to make Game Shark codes and then move on to Action Replay codes. If we can make it easy to use CE to make Action Replay codes imagine how many new developers or CE user that could be attracted, not to mention how many people would be spared from having to buy Datel's trainer kit.(I enjoy AR but I enjoy free stuff even more, I also enjoy a sense of accomplishment but I like free stuff even more. )
Help needed, info needed, comments aren't needed but are welcomed.
If I posted in the wrong section, sorry I didn't know where to put this.
