I have a 8gb USB stick which I stuck in my broken tablet and now it registers as 3gb; if I stick it in a USB 2.0 or a newer computer is it going to show 8gb or will it be formatted to 3gb?

If your old crusty PC can recognize the size of your HDD which should be more than 8GB, then it has to recognize the correct size of your flash drive.

Looks like your flash drive is defective or something?
