i downloaded the 5.6 source, and i found there a 'compile.bat'.
when i typed 'compile 234' and entered, it returned me several Errors and Fatals
im sure the code is not corrupt BUT how do i 'fix it'?

compile.bat is extremely outdated, it's best to just use delphi and other tools to compile

anyhow, first make sure you're in the proper build environment before compiling (e.g windows xp checked)

and then fix the errors
e.g pscan.dpr will not compile because it doesn't exist anymore

so you mean i need to compile the project files one by one?
ok i did this like you said, but i still cannot compile all the files
e.g. ceclient.dpr cepacketfilter.dpr(no proxy.pas any more?) etc.
and how can i deal with the driver under win7 system?
need i change it to xp? or does an xp virtual machine work?
i have delphi 7 enterprise and win DDK 3790.1830(is it also 'extremely outdated'?), but using windows 7
plus: im not good at c++

ceclient.dpr: obsolete
cepacketfilter.dpr: obsolete, it's now a plugin in the plugin subfolder

and yes, your ddk is too old as well, get 7600.16385 (connect.microsoft.com :windows driver foundation project)

xp mode in that old ddk will work, but you're probably going to get some compile errors that you will have to fix (simple things, but since you don't know a lot of c++, hard)

a time after getting ddk 7.1, i think i've compiled and built enough components and the driver files(dbk.sys&dbk32.sys) of cheat engine

but when i run the cheat engine.exe, i first get a message saying 'ucc12.dll was not found no c-scripting abilities'.

happen to know there is an existing ucc12.dll in the 'underc' folder, but can you please explain simply to me what it is for?

well, i'm just feeling interested in how ce works with its components, not expecting reply if you're busy

ucc12.dll is just for the c-scripting engine (Not autoasembler) Its no problem if you're missing it
