Hello, I have an old 2004 PC (I know most of you will suggest me to get a new one, but I don't got that option at the moment)
Some Specs:
3ghz P4 HyperThreading Enabled
512MB DDR RAM (2 x 256)
128mb GeForce 5200FX GPU
I've encountered a problem apparently when ever I boot it, I end up with a blank screen doing nothing. If I attempt to boot it via Safe Mode it lists all the files and ends at agp440.sys and just hangs.
I've done several tests (I have 512mb of DDR ram, 2 256mb chips, I removed each to test both none of them were faulty) the Video Card shouldn't be the problem, it all looks intact, the video appears perfect like it used to before this problem. I've even done a format and installed a clean Windows XP Home Edition from the Vaio Recovery disk. Even after all of this, it still does the same thing NOTHING really happened. (I've also disabled the Service, and instead of hanging at agp440 it hangs at MUP.sys). Oh and I also had NO USB devices connected, only PS/2 mouse and keyboard. I also disconnected my DVD/CD drive and even floppy drive to see if that would and it didn't. All the same.
I've also restored all my important files before formatting, so I just need to make my PC up and running.
At the moment I'm trying to run Chkdsk /R to see if anything works out. But by then anyone have any suggestions I should do?
(I have the Pre-built Sony Vaio PCVRS712)
All suggestions are welcomed.

Could possibly be your hard drive dying but I'm not too sure. Unless, it could be your mobo but I doubt it.

Figured out what I needed to do, I had to do a slow-format I couldn't do it via recovery console so I used an XP disc to format it, once it was installed I used my Sony Recovery disk to re-install the original XP it was running on, to run it as valid, and as a genuine operating system.
Thanks for your suggestion though.
