Today I got a BSOD on this computer and I can no longer boot from disc on any windows OS. I keep getting stop 7e and 8e errors.

I can't even install linux, the computer just shuts down when around 29% AND odly enough, the computer only works when you boot it in LINUX try mode.

Is there a fix for this? Or is my computer cold turkey...

The original errors where:
0x00000018
(0xFFFFFA8003754F30, 0xFFFFF8A000061040, 0x0000000000000001, 0x0000000000000001)

When I formatted hardrive via linux install, they changed to 7E and 8E stop errors.

Please take note, that the computer gets the BSOD when it boots from a windows disc, and it's been tested to work fine on another computer. It used to get a BSOD on bootup on windows, but now that's gone it wont boot at all.

I hope I can fix this, as this linux try mode keeps dropping connection for me to research on it.

It sounds like a dying HDD or ram. Run memtest86+. Also get the bootable HDD check program from its developer.

Hmm well I have made a sacrifice, I went from 64 bit to 32, and my processor is now a INtel Pentium 4 3.2ghz ~2c, from AMD Anthalon(1) 64 x2 2.1GHZ, I'm not sure how much that is an increase... possible a decrease since it wont support 64 bit.

And From 4gb to 1.5gb of ram, since my old computer had a busted ram socket.

The video card and ram works, which makes me think that it was a hardrive error... going to ahve to find a tutorial.

Didn't notice you mention what OS you were currently running so:

Stop 0x00000018: REFERENCE_BY_POINTER
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/967776

Stop 0x0000007E: SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/330182

Stop 0x0000008E: KERNEL_MODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/827663
http://icrontic.com/forum/showthread.php?t=50966
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315335

Overall sounding like it could be a hardware or driver issue.

In reality it was a gift from god, because my parents bought me a new computer thats *much* better, I can run ps2 games at full speed now with pcsx2.

(My dad knew immediately it was a hardrive failure and said it was a cheap repair, but they overall decided I needed a new computer.)
