|
|
Hi fellow cheatengine members,
I'm trying to bypass a password protected login account on windows vista/7 that my parents set. I've tried the following steps:
1. Create another administrator account (when I have the chance to use the computer) and hiding it from the Windows logon screen using SpecialAccounts->UserList from the registry
And so, when I get locked out..
2. Accessing boot options menu through f2->f8 then choosing "repair my computer" option before startup (this option doesn't show when I accessed boot options menu directly by pressing f8.)
3. The above option brings me to somewhat a safe mode an allows me to access command prompt and the registry provided that i log on using an administrator account. Apparently I can't access my hidden account on any other boot mode(safe mode etc.) except this method.
4. Accessed the command prompt and entered the command "net user administrator /active:yes" with returned message "The command completed successfully"
5. Restarted computer
The problem is that although it seems like i have activated the administrator account, it does not show on the logon screen the next time I restart my computer in normal mode.. So it means that the administrator account is not activated. Can anyone help me or is there any other solutions to bypassing a password protected windows account? Thanks
BTW, I have to be able to bypass the account, i.e. use the computer using another account, with the password of the initial account intact and ensure that there is only one account on the logon screen, in case my parents check the computer

Why don't you simply create your own administrator account, deactivate it, and reactivate it when you want to use it?
1. Boot in safe mode, login to the default administrator account
2. Create your own user account
3. Use Command Prompt to deactivate it (net user account name /active:no)
Whenever you want to use your account just reactivate it in safe mode. When your folks come and check on you just deactivate your account, reboot.

Hi Haswell,
well it's not possible to do that since i'm unable to access the default administrator account. The ctrl-alt-del function from xp has been disabled in vista/7, and if i were to create another account it would be visible in the logon screen, something which I wouldn't want. And if I were to deactivate the account, I wouldn't be able to access it on safe mode as well...

No, you would be using the default built-in administrator account in safe mode as a "gate" to activate your alternate account. You deactivate it every time you finish using it (if you're lazy, make a batch script).
Since you'll be using your alt. account anyways, who cares if your account would be visible on the welcome screen for a few seconds when you log in? Assuming you'll go through the trouble to deactivate your account after use that is...
Seriously, just ask your parents for the password.

I understand where you are coming from, as this was the method I used to bypass accounts on windows xp. Sadly the default administrator account is not accessible through safe mode on windows vista/7, and that means I cannot activate my alternate account or even run a batch script.
The only method to access command prompt is what i'm doing currently, but weird thing is whatever commands I pop in from that mode doesn't seem to take effect.

There was a program that was bootable. You could use it to find passwords. Don't remember what its called though.
