My operating system is running on Windows 7 Ultimate. My computer itself is a Intel(R) Core2 Duo @ 1.8Ghz. When I right click to find out the computers properties under RAM it says;

Installed Memory (RAM): 3.5GB installed. (2.99 useable)

does that mean it's only using 2.99? because the sticks I installed are 3 1GB sticks and 1 512MB. so should I just take the other 512mb out if only 2.99 is being used?

Obviously thats what it means. Switch to 64bit. You must have a 1gb gfx card. Its taking up space.

You're running on x86, a 32-bit OS. 32-bit operating systems can only use 4GB of memory, collective between VRAM and RAM.
