Have never even looked inside of a PC, don't know wtf anything really is, so go easy on me here ._.
i'm tired of my laptop and i'm a cheap ass with electronics (sp. PCs cuz i don't care much of them) so I decided to buy my self a desktop ( '=')
Anyways, I know prebuilt is crappier than personal built and I want to play some fallout 3 on a PC ._. so I'm going to build one.
But.... i don't know how :0
After some crappy research last night and today morning, i came up(with the help of /g/) with this:
What's wrong with this?
Like... what isn't compatible with what? What don't I need? What do I need? What should I replace?
My goal: Fallout 3 on highest settings.

also why are you getting such a high clocked processor, amd has much cheaper ones up where you can easy as shit just make the difference up with overclocking. the black edition ones have the multiplier unlocked. |
@bold: No clue on what you just said.
But... is this ok? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103843 ?

he said, buy the 955, is basically the 965 except cheaper.
also, if you don't plan to overclock, don't buy a aftermarket heatsink, i think the Hyper 212+ work better than the Zalman 9xxx

Yeah, that 955. You can get 965 speeds just by upping the multiplier, easy as cake with a non-OEM motherboard. Combo deal with a Gigabyte 880 mobo
RC690 - same price, better looks, better cooling
HD103SJ - faster, more space, cheaper
Lite-On SATA DVD Burner - $2 more for those two nice features and possibly better read speeds
Hyper212 Plus - should outperform the lower-end Zalman 9500
CMPSU-650TX - quality Corsair/CWT parts; you should actually be fine with even just a 400CX

I think there's a cheaper version of the graphics card, don't care about the branch as long as it's the same model (different companies, different fans & fansystems).
Look for the cheapest of the same model.

The IDE port is for those who have already own a IDE drive from their previous machine and it's still working fine. If OP is getting a brand new system, a SATA drive will be better off. Besides there are plenty of SATA ports so 1 or 2 SATA DVD drives won't hurt.
And why not get the AMD Phenom II X6?

It's more expensive. And, unles you're doing serious multitasking, it's not that useful.

And why not get the AMD Phenom II X6? | Mine was only a year old. They still sell new IDE based dvd drives that have everything from light scribe to multi burner.
