So like, think this:

I'm watching a youtube video, CRASH
I'm typing a story in notepad, CRASH
I've left my computer idle to go eat something, CRASH.

In this crash, this occurs:

1. I do my RANDOM activity
2. Computer screen goes blank for a second
3. Computer goes to where it goes when I boot it up
4. Windows starts up like nothing happened.

There is NO BSOD, NO ERROR MESSAGE BEFORE, NO ERROR MESSAGE AFTER, NOTHING!

Any reasons why?

Note:
Don't tell me to reformat, because I refuse to do it unless it's the ONLY WAY.

Could be because it's overheating.
Check to see if fans are working properly.

There are a variety of components that could be unstable and causing such problems. Have you been doing any overclocking?

Recently replaced, because of a fan problem. Fan runs around 3500 RPM (optimal for my CPU is ~2000).

Well, you could first try hooking your hard drive to another computer's motherboard, that would tell you if it's an OS (virus) problem, or a hardware problem. I''m thinking it's probably the latter, but it's worth a try.

Sadly, I cannot do that...all other computers in my house, with the exception of one, are laptops. My other desktop computer is a prebuilt one, and opening it is a straight violation of its warranty.

What the hell? That's fucking bullshit.

I guess you should just scan for viruses.

You did not specify the type of OS you're using. Assuming it's XP, head into event viewer to see any error message that may give you clues as to what might be the cause.

Also head over to system information and click on Dr.Watson as it will also give some info on it.
Once I had a machine that would crash for no reason and as always Dr. Watson was in the process list, after checking it out, IAA (Intel Applicaton Accelerator) was the cause of the problem.

If it's Vista or above, head into Error Reporting (Start orb>instant search: Error Report), and click on advanced option, in here you will see a set of activity logs that may help you find your problem.

If it's a lose connection in your power supply it might be taking away the power for just a second, which is enough to cause your pc to reboot.

Noany BSOD, sir, meaning it shouldn't be some super-duper-major-windows error that I should go "OMG WAT2 DO" about.
@Super Secret fkjkhrejkvhre
Checked that, pushed in all plugs, didn't work.
@kls
My stupid mistake, should have mention that Razz
I have viewed it many times, directly after the crash. Nothing should be the cause here.

After viewing Dr Watson, it's shown no errors around the dates and times where I have crashed. Therefore, I have gotten nothing out of it...

I'll be setting up trials to see what the fuck is happening.

It can POSSIBLY be a short circuit that's catching occasionally, that will just shut down your system immediately.

Loose connection as in inside of it. Try switching cables(that go in the pc) or even PSU to see if it's any different.

That'd cause it to STAY off....I think, not just immediately restart.

This appears to happen when I'm at high CPU usage....

Bump.

May I add, it more often occurs when I'm playing a game, such as GTA: San Andreas, Half Life 2, Garrys Mod, etc...
