Hello.

I intend to learn maya but it lags from the moment I start the damn program.

cpu: Intel core 2 Q6600
gpu: ATI Radeon HD 4890
ram: 2gb
os: Win7

What kind of a build would I need to have it toally lagfree?

you shouldn't have problems with it... do you have the lastest drivers for your video card?

I'm not so sure its a lack of ram. its a learning program right? 2gb should be too much for it. Probably the drivers. It could also be, its not optimized for w7, run it in xp compatibility.
