I am running windows 7. I have been using windows start button changer 2.5
but it didn't work so I sought to change the permissions of explorer.exe in the windows folder.
The program still didn't change the orb for me, so I figured restarting it would solve the problem.
I got a back screen after the windows is starting screen, I can still see my mouse and start task manager via control alt delete, but other than that I got nothing.
So how do I fix this predicament, I will grateful to any helpers.
Edit: Through task manager I have managed to run explorer.exe now how do I stop this from happening again??

Have you installed anything important lately?
Use a system restore if you can't fix it.
Then do it again but this time backup the files that you're replacing. The explorer.exe is replaced when changing the startorb / taskbar if I recall right.

Well, I don't know how start button changer works but I know how to do it manually in cmd and it involves replacing explorer.exe.
>Changing permissions meaning you needed to either delete/replace/move it
also, http://ap-graphik.deviantart.com/art/steelOrb-square-for-Windows-7-143789870 look at artist comments.
I'll just assume that that's how button changer works because all of the methods I've seen works that way.
also, I asked if you've installed anything important because system restore will fuck the newly installed program lol.
Just either get the original explorer.exe from someone with the same win7 build as yours or do a system restore. Next time, back it up :D
