Howdy.

Was wondering if SLI would be compatible with:

Gigabyte GA-890GPA-UD3H ATX DDR3 AM3

for:

http://www.dove.co.nz/jump/6594
Gigabyte GV-N480D5-15I 1536MB GDDR5 GTX480 PCIE


They should be fine, as long as the graphics cards are exactly the same, right?

Yea as hero stated, AMD not compatible with SLI, they have their own thing called crossfire. Just use 5870s instead of the 480.

Does it have to be AM3 mobo?

The am3 socket is made by amd and most amd boards only have crossfire. And yes I noticed the second link and depending on if it has to be am3 or if you already have fermi i was suggesting 5870s in crossfire instead of gtx 480s in sli. If it has to be sli go for the chipset then.

ONLY NVIDIA CHIPSET
AMD chipset only support Crossfire, hybrid crossfire, CrossfireX, THERE ARE NO SLI ON ANY AMD CHIPSET EXCEPT FOR NVIDIA
