Cheat Engine

Hello everyone,
I started with the Cheat engine tutorial and got to point 8. Haven't finished 9 yet.
So I tried something out.
I open C&C Generals and search for the money value and I find 2 adresses with the same value.

<Address>009318E4</Address>

<Address>04C032B0</Address>

Now the first address 00931E4 is green and seems to be STATIC. Whenever I change the value of it, in game nothing happens.

The second address is dynamic and always changes, whenever I look for the pointer ( find out what writes to this .... ---> I fill in the HEX value and I find NOTHING)

What am I doing wrong, any tips ?

The tutorial isn't the problem.

Well i did use on generals and on zero hour .....you need to freeze static one and dynamic one ..after you did that change values ....then go in game and buy ARMIES !!

Ok that's no problem, perhaps I explained it bad, I can alter the money and make it 99999 and then freeze it. But I'm looking for the pointer ... that's a thing that always points toward the address of the money.
Because when ever you restart the game, the static adress will be the same but the dynamic one, will be diffrent.

I want to find the pointer so I can put it in a trainer. So I don't have to research the value the whole time, ..

i've hacked the money in the past for generals, but instead of finding a pointer, i did 'what writes to this address' and then a code injection

lmao looking back now, i must've not known how to do memory allocations with ce back then hahaha
