How would i go about hacking percentages?
For this particular game i'm trying to hack the critical rate. Now the critical rate is in %. I have items that have +X Critical chance(not in percent) but it increases the overall % by the stated amount on the item. E.g

Overall Crit Rate: 19%
Shoulder +10 crit chance
>Overall Crit rate=29%
As for what I've tried
I scanned unknown values and kept messing with diff items that increase and decrease crit rate but I'm getting nowhere. I can't seem to find the code that changes it I've browsed the memory for the few codes that came up trying to find the hex equivalent of the crit numbers displayed or teh hex equivalent multiplied by 100. I'm out of ideas. Btw this isn't an online game or some sort its just a normal pc game i've done money and level hacks and such. Thanks in advance.

the way you were doing it is probably the best , because you don't know for sure that the percentage is out of 100(could be something like 82345) , and we might be able to help you better if you told us the game.

im pretty sure that the crit rate is stored on the item , and not on your character , so you would have to find where the item buff values are stored and change that. that will involve alot of reversing.

Put there are also passive skills that give + crit chance. I tried messing with those but they didnt work either? Also the base crit rate is 3%.

i'm dont use % for seach i prefer use increase or decrease

Yes i was using besicaly increase and decrease... and the last three lines i got.. after i increased they decreased and disappeared from the view. I'm stuck. Btw i wasnt searching for % i know that wouldnt work.

@slovach care to explain in detail? i'm a noob at this.
