Is it really an effective cooling system? There's a lot of review on the net saying that it's pretty good, but I want to know if it's worth the money.
I might overvolt the HD 5850 when I get it, since I've been reading that the 5850 is pretty much just an undervolted 5870.
If I grab the Vapor X and overvolt, do you guys think it will work well under load?

i owned the sapphire vapor-x 4890 and the fan was superior was very quiet even at high speeds but that's comparing it to my GTX 275 fan noise and 4890 was quieter but performed less. But just the cooling thing yes its pretty good.

So if it comes down to overclocking, would you recommend me to get a Vapor X for an XFX card?

So the fan performs well and I'm going to assume that it hasn't broken on you yet?

Word of advice, don't buy XFX card and tries to overclock, their non reference board are voltage locked. and they have shit cooling solution I'm one of the faggot that got scammed to that shit.

All sapphire fans > other gpu fans. They do have the nasty small ones, but 2 out of 3 versions have the bigger fan. Check the sapphire site, on 5770 for instance. It has the vapor, another, and the crappy small one that looks like XFX. Vapor is good stuff though.

lifetime refers to the lifetime of the product, not literally forever.
double means you can transfer ownership of the warranty, ie selling it to someone else.
you should be using a 3rd party solution if you plan on getting really crazy anyway.

Oh well, that's fine. As long as I know it's reliable.
Do you guys know if I can use MSI Afterburner on Sapphire cards to overvolt them?

MSI afterburner is rivaturner with "good" looking, friendly UI, with some nice charts.
