What on earth actually is the difference between a Geforce GTS 250 and a 9800 GTX+? Nothing? According to the specs, they're identical!

open GL 3.0 support on GTS 250 and it is 1GB video while 9800 is 512
apart from that they are pretty much the same card
check this for more info
http://www.nvidia.com/object/graphics_cards_buy_now.html
edit:: noticed that the 9800GT+ is not listed there since is a modified version, the change was to increase the number of cuda cores to the same amount as the GTS250
prices are pretty much the same too

Interesting, since the 9800 GTX+ seems to be a little cheaper, even than the GTS 250 w/ 512 mb ram. How exactly important do you suppose GL 3 is versus GL 2.1?

its hell a lot faster because it uses the cuda technology better and it fixed a lot of compatibility issues
9800GT+ might be cheaper because I'm not sure but it might be an overclocked card

9800gt = gts250, same card, same performance, unless you care about CUDA, lower TDP
just buy the cheapest one.

GTS 250: smaller PCB, lowered power draw. Otherwise they're the same thing. Get an HD5750 instead.

lol, this isn't for me, it's for the 550$ computer I'm building for my friend. I was certainly thinking about a 5750, but they do cost alot more. I'm going to go with a GTS 250, mainly because I want to see how they perform.
