My screen is stretched and the top and bottom bar go off-screen.
I use an ATI Radeon 4670, running Ubuntu.

Off topic: Lol, friendly giant, how you got that? | Had Ubuntu before, decided to re-install it. And I got it because Mods get title changes, if you want one you'd need to donate 20 dollars.

Using a TV, it's not that.
I think it's a driver issue.

I think it's a driver issue. | I'll bet money that it's a driver issue. ATI is known for having bad linux support.
You're gonna have to find a good one for your purposes, or learn how to write your own.

Are you using the proprietary ATI fglrx driver or the free ATI Xorg driver?
This a new install or a problem after updates/editing a configuration file/etc.?
Have you tried the (stupid GUI tools) display resolution program in System>Preferences?
If so, or if it didn't work, get to a terminal and do "xrandr -q" to see what bideo modes you have available. "xrandr -s [horiz]x[vert]" should change the resolution (at least if it's already a known mode from the previous command).

Yeah, the ATI drivers are bad. The free one is pretty incomplete, doesn't have great 3d acceleration. The proprietary one needs an old version of xorg server and isn't packaged very easily for non-deb/rpm systems (supported on Ubuntu and Red Hat pretty well, but they use an old version of xorg server ).
But at the very least, monitor resolution should work.

Sounds like a bad X11 configuration, post your config file so we can see what the settings are.

New versions of X have deprecated the need for an Xorg.conf file (though Ubuntu might have one by design).
