Well long story short stupid parents wont listen to me to move the router standing up and move it from the top of their computer which is covered by a shelf so my xbox gets shitty signal. I have the white wireless connector will buying the new black one help my signal strength out at all? i think it will help.

Unless their router is also an N, this wont do you much good. N routers work well with g adapters, but the router needs be an N for an N adapter.

I have the Wireless N Networking Adapter for my Xbox 360; one word, amazing. I got it on Christmas day as a present and it reaches amazing distances from day one, I can get my neighbors signal and they live 3 houses down. It's definitely worth the buy, the connection nearly never drops and I'm almost host for my matches every time.

EDIT:

FYI, it's backwards compatible for A/B/G/N

I know it is. Here is the issue. I had an N adapter for a pc, and a g/b linksys. It didnt give it the boost it deserved. Got an N linksys router. Its amazing.

In speed or strength? Because yea, the speed would definitely increase no doubt, as long as you have a good speed as it is.

the strength. It would cut out. Shit, on like a low signal with the n adapter connected to n router, its still max speed.

Speed over one's LAN might increase but unless one is getting a ridiculously low signal strength (<20%) with an 802.11g router/receiver the bottleneck will probably be their external connection rather than their wireless hardware.

Too far away for cables? Do you think office buildings all use wireless? No, a lot / most of them use cables, thousands of feet of cables.

Some people can't afford to run a ton of cables through their house just for that, but yea it's understandable he should but it's not necessary.

Yea, it would help with low signal, you'd probably get the max amount of bars.
