Well, as the topic says, I installed cheat engine 5.6, and started trying to get the driver to load. I'm not a moron, so I read that I needed to sign the driver, but I knew you can self-sign drivers as well. So, after going through a long process setting up my own key and adding it to the trusted list, I got the driver signed. Rebooted, nothing. Check to see if the driver was loaded, it wasn't. Noticed that there's Gather Kernel Data, ran it, it installed the driver without any messages saying it was not signed, and it worked. Checked, the driver was loaded! Ran cheat engine, "Please reboot with unsigned drivers allowed(F8 during boot), or sign the driver yourself". Hmm. Well, let's try a reboot anyways. Rebooted, checked it as soon as I got to the deskop, driver was loaded, still same message in cheat engine. Fine, let's try unsigned enabled with F8. It boots with the check disabled, and... Still the same message. Am I supposed to do something else here? Because I can't get it working at all.
I run windows 7 x64 ultimate.
Also, when I self signed I did set it to test mode.

Don't forget to run the kernelmoduleunloader before compilig, signing or starting ce to make sure the right version is loaded.
Also, understand that the message at the bottom of settings->extra stays even if the driver is properly loaded. (But you shouldn't get pop up messages)

Then to load the driver your system must be in test mode as well

It's signed, and it's loaded. I tried running the unloader to see if it'd help, no dice. The options are still grayed out.

which options are greyed out ?
You ARE running cheat engine 5.6 right ? (asking since 5.5 had everything disabled for 64-bit, but 5.6 has it enabled)
also, if you mean kernelmode debugging, check the about screen. If your system does not support dbvm, (e.g amd) you're just not going to be able to use it

Ah, balls. I take it there's no incoming port for amd parts then?

Since intel and amd use completly different instruction sets and even the way the virtualizer internally works I can't just port it. I have to write a completly different dbvm version for amd systems.
I don't have a amd system myself so can't even test the code if I did
but perhaps someday. (in the far future)
Alternatively, you could install a 32-bit windows version as dual boot and use the kerneldebugger on there
Also, I'm working on another method that might be of use for 64-bit alternative debugging (but extremely easily patchable) which might be put into ce 6.0 or 6.1
