Hi,
I started through the Cheat Engine Tutorial, (v3.1 with CE5.6) and came up with a few things of note...
- It would be nice if the Cheat Engine Tutorial window was resizable...
- The first page says: "Select it, and click ok." - but there's no "ok" button, just the "Open" button, presumably.
- It did "crash" with an access violation dialog, but after I clicked ok, it seemed to continue running fine, and hasn't happened again since.
- In Step 6, it says to "use the function to find out what accesses this address" - but that returns 4 selections. I tried using one of the ones that *isn't* returned when you instead use "writes this address" and it didn't work - so I'm thinking that maybe it should be "use the function to find ou what writes this address" instead of "accesses" ..? Obviously I'm new, so I could of course be wrong here..
Finally (so far) still in Step 6, where it says "Back to the tutorial..." and says to change the value using the pointer you added in 5000 and freeze it." - assuming that's just a typo and means change the value to 5000 and freeze it - I did that.. BUT .. when I then clicked "Change pointer" - it flashed something like "you have x seconds to change the value to 5000" and counted down 3... 2... 1... fairly quickly, then vanished. *Then* the "Next" button became enabled. I'm not sure what that was about, since the tutorial didn't mention it - but since the Next button enabled, am I to assume that I did it right anyway..? The value DID in fact change, so I'm not 100% sure...
Also - should I bother with any more stuff like this as I go along, or should I just shut up and learn and just ignore little things like these, per se...?
Regardless - thanks(!) to whoever for the tutorial, and of course thanks for CE! Cheers!
