I have this Motherboard;

The Asus P5Q Pro, there is a problem though, i also have the graphics card, NVIDIA GTX 260. The blue PCI express link, the 16x one doesnt seem to work with my GFX card, any ideas why? and also i have my card in the black slot atm, which is 8x. I'd also like to ask, what is the difference between the two?

GTX 260
Designed for PCI Express 2.0 x16 (PCI Express 2.0 devices are backwards-compatible with PCI
Express 1.x devices)

it should work...

Dunno, when i put it in, the screen is just completely black and my monitor light goes yellow from green. (in use). So yeah, sometimes it happens now while in the black slot, but after a while it comes on, on blue, it just doesn't work at all, one time when i first built the computer, it worked for about one run, reset the computer and it went back to being black screen.

Defective x16 port? If you just bought the mobo, RMA it. Else just use the port it's in now, you won't suffer issues with performance.

Have you got any other cards that you can test in it? It might just be a bad port.

It really shouldn't make a difference, especially if the board is new. Everything should work more or less out of the box (my P5Q PRO did), and if you had to mess around in BIOS to use a PCIe slot, they'd let you know.
