Is every new i7 you buy going to be d0 stepping, or do you have to ask for it?

New i7
pretty sure that's your answer. Every knew i7 processor is going to have d0 stepping, you only ask if your old i7 has C0

Some retailers might still have some stock of the older C0 stepping. You can confirm a D0 stepping i7 with the sSpec SLBEx (x indicating a letter; i7 920 D0 is SLBEJ).

i'd seriously doubt you'd manage to end up with a C0 at this point.
