Hey guys.

My dad's laptop, keeps losing the internet connection.

It has always been a bit crappy at getting internet, but it wasen't as bad as it is now.
It's like, it goes on and off every 2min. And it has full signal...
So could this be something with out router? I'm use wireless too, and I have no problems at all. But okay, router is less then 1m from my comp.
Maybe we should update drivers or ?

~Thanks.

What OS? This may be the issue, as it was for my mom. Her laptop had "power saving" on in the adapters properties. Not sure where it is, but if its on, it can cause an issue. After i turned off power saving the issue was gone.

Something's interfering with the signal probably, try a different channel.

Be sure that its not the router killing your connect, I used to have the same problem. Until i turned that option off. It would kill wireless connections after an hour.

Do this. Also, assign your laptop a static IP address (if it isn't already).

And it may be a driver issue. When did you last do a Windows Update? If it was around the time you started having this issue, bad drivers might be the problem. ONLY if that is the case, rollback your drivers (not update, rollback).

Or try checking for new firmware for your router.
