Alot of mobos have dual pci slots. Not every mobo has 2 pcie slots, as thats for crossfire or SLI usage. My aunts crappy desktop is from walmart from 5 years ago and it has dual PCI slots.

The very first socket 775 board I've got has 2x PCIe x16 slots, but it does not support either SLI or CrossFire. Their purpose was to run multiple displays.

Ignore him, just by his name you can tell he doesn't know anything.
Your motherboard (mobo) will at the least support a pci express x16 with two pci lanes also. I have a 939 socket mobo that has a pci x16 1.0 and three pci lanes. Also PCI-E 2.0 is backwards capatible with PCI-E 2.0 and same for 3.0

I am just clearing up that because most people get confused about 2.0 not being able to use 2.0 cards in a 1.0 slot and vice versa.
