Well, this is actually new to me. I know a great amount a bout PC's all around but I realized i really didn't know anything about sound cards in general. So I really don't know a good company or good card so i need help picking one out. Also before i even go as to buy one, does a sound card really improve sound quality that much? I got about 70 bucks for a sound card. My mobo is listed in my signature.

Just use your integrated sound card. They offer quality good enough for everyone except for those with an ultra hi-fi sound system (quality 5.1 surround sound system at the very least).

The only reason you would need a dedicated sound card is if you were setting up some ridiculous home-theater 7.1 surround sound thing. They really don't make them for anything else. Your integrated is more than enough.

If you use digital output, there's not much difference, except an external sound card might provide you Dolby Digital and/or DTS encoding.
So, if you use analog output, I'd suggest you getting an external soundcard, preferably one outside the case (ie. usb one). If you're using digital output, eg. Toslink, then there's no need unless you want DD/DTS encoding. Of course, the result can be only heard, if your speakers aren't total crap.
I'd suggest you looking for any with DD/DTS encoding, they can't be that bad.. Just for future even if you don't need it now. I've always been a Creative user, and they've served me good. Back in the day there was no integrated sound cards, Creative was the shit. Heck, you couldn't even run many games if you didn't have Creative SoundBlaster. Well, at least not with sounds.
