It says 1.4MB Ram.
Does this mean only 200MB is aloud to be used for my graphics?

Your graphics card has 256MB of VRAM. That isn't too shabby, 1/4 of a GB. Think of it this way, you really don't want you computer using the other 1.4GB. 256MB is plenty for most games, and if you're playing MapleStory, you will have zero FPS lag.

| It has 256mb of its own, and seemingly 1.4 total from shared.

That can't be true. What processor do you have? That card can run pretty much any modern game on medium to low graphics quality smoothly.

Vista (Win 7 too?) seems to dislike maple. I can run it fine on my PC, even dual client it - but a single client on my sisters Vista (better than mine) runs like total shit. Plus the game client caches some WZ data to RAM so it can be accessed quicker.. which might be contributing to any lag.
@Wanted; thanks. Whenever I see a start bar different from XP's regular one I think of Vista - but then again, Win7 is basically just an improved version of Vista.. perhaps I'll get it and see how it handles the game.

^ But isn't he using Win7?
@OP, what kind of computer is it?
I have the same gpu as you and processor (it's a AMD Athlon X2 QL-64) and moople does give me some screen lag too.

| I handled Mαplestory on a vista pc with 512mb ram and a celeron D 3.2ghz. Celeron D is a horrible cpu, even for 3.2ghz. and 512mb ram on vista, why not just use the whole tower as a door stop? The lag has to be due to connection. I havn't played in a good year now, but I refuse to believe it gained some kind of real pc spec requirements.

A 1.6GHz Athlon (not even Athlon II) processor is very, very, VERY old. I refuse to believe the many functions of Windows 7 run smoothly on that processor. I would really recommend getting a better processor. You can get a much better processor than that for about $10-$15. Seriously, I wouldn't pay 75 cents for that processor of yours. However, that still blows away the minimum AND recommended requirements of MoopleStory, which are, by the way:
| Code: | [Minimum Requirements]
CPU: Celeron 500MHz
RAM: 64MB
HDD: 300MB Disk Space
OS: MS Windows 98/ME/2K/XP
VGA: 3D Acceleration Card
SOUND: None
NETWORK: 56kbps Modem
[Recommended Settings]
CPU: P3-700MHz or higher
RAM: 128MB RAM
HDD: 500MB Disk Space
OS: MS Windows 98/ME/2K/XP
VGA: 3D Acceleration Card
SOUND: 16bit Sound Card
NETWORK: Cable Modem |
You may notice that Vista and W7 aren't included in the OS list. I think they may not fully support it (as SF said). Since it is such a low requirement game, I would try running it in compatibility with XP SP3.

I thought the graphic card would be good and the cpu too, but I guess I was wrong.

3,0ghz P4 single core 256mb gfx, MS runs completely lagg free (except when too many players at single maps, FM, FM1-7 etc.) Fog sometimes lagg as well, but rarely
