|
|
I was wondering if anybody knew of a fix for Crysis running on Windows 7.
The problem is that it crashes when changing settings such as keys or detail levels.
I have tried the following:
Run in Admin mode
Run in Vista SP2 mode
I have the steam version which automatically updates, although my game still says 1.1.1.6 something...
Win7 Ultimate x32
Thanks.

I do have that XP mode installed. I guess I'll try it. But does that mean I won't be able to use DX10?

Even ignoring the huge performance overhead, XP mode doesn't have DirectX hardware acceleration. Don't even think about it.

Ah, ok. I guess I'll just have to wait until a service pack for Win7 comes out. At that time there will probably be a patch made. I don't think they will make one until Windows 7 is out of Beta because it would be a waste of time to them.
And yes, an operating system is technically in beta until a service pack is released.

No, not technically. Like I said, an operating system is still in beta until a Service Pack is released. A service pack truly fixes some problems that an operating system still has. It is still being tested until a SP comes out.
It isn't CALLED Beta, but it is still in testing and Microsoft is waiting for feedback.

The point of this thread isn't to debate whether an OS is in Beta until a Service Pack comes out.
If you don't have anything helpful to say, piss off, because I could care less what you think about what this has side-tracked to.

They've already had many beta builds tested as well as a release candidate that had another 500 revisions before it was RTM. Windows 7 is not in beta by any means.
Also, Crysis works perfectly for me on Windows 7, and it always has...

What version of Windows 7? and x32 or x64? It worked fine with Vista, but not Windows 7.

I'm on 64-bit and both the 32-bit and 64-bit builds work fine, although my friend is on 32-bit and it works fine for him too.
I'd imagine its more likely a driver issue than an OS issue.
