No doubt the 4890, but it is power hungry lil demon. While looking for parts someone mentioned the 4890 blew out a 500w psu while playing MW2. If you want the 4890, be sure to have a psu that can handle its self.

I've got a 500 or 550 one atm, and it's able to handle my HD4850.
But is the difference between the 4890 and the 5770 enough to cover the lack of DX11 support?

I'm not that much into overclocking really.
And how does the HD5770 perform in comparison to the HD4850?
Edit:
The 4890 and the 5770 are almost the same price over here.

if the 5750 is cheaper, why did you tell me to get a 4830?

I'm not sure about the watts on my PSU neither am I sure what type it is, but it is able to handle the HD4850, would it also be able to handle the 4890 or the 5770?
If not, I'm fucked. Got just enough money to get the card itself.

But about the difference in performance between the 2 mentioned in OP, it's not that big, is it?

I don't get anyone who would get the 5750, as gaming, i would only take it as for HTPC, wtf is that 128bitmemory bandwidth doing here? Are you trying to future proof with your low range card? Fuck, if you say overclock the 5750, why not overclock the 5770, 4890? DX11what?Is like DX10 all over again.
OP, i run 2 4870 with a 550W PSU, i have another gaeming rig that run a 4890 easily with a 500W
use this calculator:
http://extreme.outervision.com/PSUEngine
Yes yes yes you'll save 20-40W, cool now see how much cents you'll save in a month then see if is worth it.
TLdr; 5850 or 4890,5770 IS FINE TOO, DON'T EXCEPT EYEFINITY TO WORK, OR GREAT DX11 GAEMS AT ACCEPTABLE FPS (2days ago, XFX were selling 4890 for ~140 AFTER CASH BACK AND REBATE)

128bit GDDR5 is the equivalent to the 256 path on the other generations.
the card has more than enough bandwidth for its targeted market and it has some rather enormous overclocking headroom.

DX11 is already off to a much better start than DX10 was, and it allows graceful fallbacks to 10.1 and 10 hardware feature sets while maintaining several new features.

What people don't seem to understand is that new API doesn't have to mean OH FUCK AWESOME EFFECTS TIME FOR MY FPS TO GO TO SHIT. Ultimately, it's up to the developers. 10 onwards can definitely be faster than 9 (and is on titles that aren't written like shit / had it tacked on as an afterthought)

5750:
4.6ghz memory clock
bandwidth: 73.6 gb/sec

hardocp got it up to 5.54 with no modifications.

that's 88.6 gb/s now.

850 core clock from 700 puts it at about the same fill rate as the 4890.

for the lower price point, better features and energy savings, it's pretty much a win if you are doing some nice overclocking (and really, even without tbh, though they overclock like monsters, take advantage of it).

So you're saying I should get the HD5750 or perhaps the 5770?
