Alright, so my computer recently took a turn for the worse. AND here is whats happening.

> upon start up the computer will begin its boot-up and before even making it to the bios it will shut back down. Sometimes it will make it to the bios though, it will still shut down.

Me and my brother have determined that its not the PSU, because we tried using a different one and we had the same problem continue. Its not the RAM, and its not the graphics card. (duh).

We have reason to believe that this is the motherboard acting up, and that i should get a new one.

That is the exact mother board i use. AND i want to make sure that this is what i need to fix the problem.

Whats your look on this situation?

There's not really much of a way to tell without swapping the motherboard.. I guess you could look for obvious signs that it's bad.. blown capacitors, or a dead rat glued to it.

Have you modified your boot.ini? Downloaded anything that might have fucked that up? I had a similar problem on my new computer today and I had to reformat. (Some Activations for Windows will modify your boot.ini)

Any examples of what blown capacitors would look like?

I'm right now taking my mobo out of the case so check it all out.

AH ty SF, and no i haven't modified anything at all.

UPDATE.

I found no blown capacitors and upon inspecting the processor found that one of the prongs were bent. My brother identifies this problem as a (not to worry) issue. BUT in all reality it could be more meaningful then that.

We have deciding to try to hunt a new motherboard AND processor that supports DDR RAM and my currently graphics card. (the GC shouldn't be an issue)

Would anyone be able to find me a combo of a motherboard/decent proccessor? Mobo that supports DDR?
